Guna city is the administrative headquarters of the district of Guna in Madhya Pradesh. The divisional headquarters of Guna is based at Gwalior. The district of Guna is divided into four sub-divisions. The four sub-divisions are Guna city, Aron, Raghogarh and Chachoda. These divisions are further divided into tehsils. They are Guna, Aron, Raghogarh, Chachoda and Kumbhraj.The rural area of the district is divided into developmental blocks known as Janpads.

The NIC District Center at Guna was established in the year 1988. The NIC District Center is located in the Zila Panchayat Building in the collectorate campus.
