The Spice Board under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India has taken steps to create spice parks at seven locations to provide infrastructure facilities. The board has established this park to empower growers of spice and for better price recognition. The spice Board has established projects to be undertaken at spice parks in order to benefit the growing community through warehousing, packing, grading and quality enhancement etc. for adding value to the product which in turn has a great impact on the price of the product.

Guna is a semi-arid region. The farmers of Guna produce rice, wheat, sunflower, wheat, sugarcane, maize and oilseeds. The district is bounded by the Malwa Plateau in the north, with hills in the Chanderi region and covered by forests. The major population of Guna is involved in agriculture. The principle crops of the district are wheat, maize, rice, sugarcane and olives. Different steps are taken to ensure economic growth through agriculture. As there are a number of tribes living the forests, they hunt for medicinal plants and herbs in the forests which are used by the rest of the population.
